About Us
Spare Time Ventures is the result of 25 years of collaboration (and vows) between Bruce and Denise. Five Years ago, Bruce started planning a second career to follow 30 years of dedicated federal service, a little something to fill the "spare time". While federal service was always challenging, as Bruce discovered very early in his career, it was no place for creative ideas. 30 years of pent up creativity resulted in S.T.V. Denise too, always had a flair for creative design and color combinations. One night she suggested an idea, and the rest is Spare Time Ventures history. Love of the creative process inspired us. We have studied drawing, painting and jewelry making, but paper and glass move us in ways that allow us to express ourselves in tactile, three-dimensional modes.
On December 13th, 2002, Bruce finally retired and Spare Time Ventures became a full time venture. Denise continues to shape the creative minds of teenagers during the day and builds her kiln formed glass career in the evenings and weekends. She looks forward to the day that she, too, can make Spare Time Ventures a full time pursuit.
